From rapid prototyping up to batch production© WZL
Additive manufacturing methods enable the production of complex components and offer maximum design freedom. While additive manufacturing methods were previously only used in the area of rapid prototyping and single-part production, the technologies have now developed to the point where they can be used in small batch and series production. The high demands on the stability of the manufacturing process can be met in the latest machines by process-integrated monitoring and control systems. For example, an optical measuring system can record the current state of the workpiece and automatically perform a nominal-actual comparison, which can then be used as a basis for detecting errors and optimizing process parameters.
