Automation of Industrial Assembly
Managing complex assembly processes by using digital technologies of the future
In industrial assembly, complex operations often meet low volumes and a high number of variants. This makes it difficult to automate processes and thus prevents the exploitation of productivity and quality potentials. The use of advanced digital technologies can increase the flexibility of modern assembly systems and thus lower the barriers to the introduction of automation technology. One possibility here is the gradual increase of the degree of automation through the use of technologies such as human-robot cooperation or collaboration. In addition, sensor- and data-based processes can be used to increase flexibility and robustness. AI algorithms building on this further increase these benefits and allow for autonomous process operations. Traditional methods of information modelling, product design and process planning must also be adapted to the new technologies and the resulting paradigm shift.
