Smart Robotics in Production
Autonomous and Flexible Robot Processes through Sensors and AI© Martin Braun
A broad variety of products, complex operations, interaction with humans and undefined positions - these are just a few scenarios that exceed the capabilities of traditional industrial robotics or where it becomes unprofitable. The use of intelligent and adaptive robot control through the combination of sensor technology, image processing or artificial intelligence enables robot systems to overcome these hurdles. For example, intuitive low-code or no-code programming methods become possible, which entail a very low competence hurdle for the implementation of robots. In addition, robot operations can be flexibly adapted based on collected data, for example to avoid collisions, in bin-picking scenarios or to increase process efficiency and accuracy. This opens up new areas of application such as the use of robots in abrasive or additive manufacturing processes, cooperative or collaborative robotics, temporary automation such as in machine tending, the application of mobile robotics or the use in complex assembly scenarios.
