Projects
For many years, the department for Control and Automation Technology has been involved in the core research area of digitalization and automation of production technology. Publicly funded projects are an important part for the research work, which is always very close to industrial needs. With the Smart Automation Lab, a laboratory area is available on which industry-oriented demonstrators can be built and thus the research concepts can be tested and transferred into practice. In terms of content, the projects are divided into the groups robotics, IoT in automation and interdisciplinary information technology. The projects, which are often interdisciplinary, are worked on by scientific staff from the three groups and thus also support the finding of solutions across topics. The results and findings obtained in research projects are transferred to industry in bilateral projects with industrial partners. In this way, a direct utilization of the research results is achieved and the economy is strengthened.
